Islamabad Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the first anniversary event of “Marka-e-Haq” scheduled to take place in the federal capital on May 10, 2026.

As part of the traffic management plan, Srinagar Highway will remain closed from Korianwala Chowk to Peshawar Mor in both directions during the scheduled hours. In addition, Islamabad Expressway will remain closed from Faizabad to Khayaban Chowk for all types of traffic.

Authorities have advised commuters traveling from the motorway or Islamabad Chowk towards Bhara Kahu or Murree to use alternative routes including 9th Avenue, Colonel Sher Khan Road, and IJP Road.

Drivers traveling from the motorway towards the Red Zone and nearby sectors are advised to take Peshawar Mor and proceed through 9th Avenue towards Jinnah Avenue or Margalla Road.

Residents of the Red Zone and adjoining sectors heading towards Rawalpindi or the motorway have also been directed to use Margalla Road or Jinnah Avenue connected to 9th Avenue.

Traffic officials further stated that commuters traveling from the Expressway towards Islamabad sectors should divert through Faizabad, Colonel Sher Khan Road, and 9th Avenue.

Motorists traveling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad may use Colonel Sher Khan Road or Faqir Aapi Road linked to 9th Avenue. Meanwhile, travelers from Rawalpindi Scheme III can use Rawal Road, Murree Road, Club Road, or routes leading towards the Red Zone, Bhara Kahu, and Murree depending on their destination.

Authorities also advised that traffic from Murree and Bhara Kahu heading towards Koral or Rawat T-Cross should use Korang Road through Bani Gala, Park Road, and Lehtrar Road. Drivers moving from Peshawar Mor towards Koral or Rawat T-Cross are advised to use 9th Avenue, Stadium Double Road, and Rawal Road.

The advisory further stated that all LTV vehicles will be diverted from Rawat T-Cross towards Rawalpindi from 5pm until midnight.

The deputy commissioner urged citizens to cooperate with traffic officials and plan their travel accordingly. He said, “Citizens are requested to plan their travel accordingly, use alternative routes, avoid unnecessary movement during peak hours, and cooperate with traffic officials to ensure smooth traffic flow and public convenience.”
