16 June, 2026 14:21

Lahore traffic authorities have introduced a new facility for citizens applying for driving licenses by setting up free medical fitness certificate centers in government hospitals across the city.

According to the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, people can now get medical fitness certificates free of cost from selected public hospitals.

In the first phase, 13 government hospitals in Lahore have been included in this initiative.

Hospitals Included in the Facility

Special medical counters have been established at DHQ Mian Mir Hospital, DHQ Mozang, General Hospital Ghaziabad, and Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Sabzazar. Other included hospitals are Government Hospital Samanabad, Qila Gujjar Singh, Shahdara, Bilal Ganj, Sodiwal, Kahna, Raiwind, and Swami Nagar.

Officials said that medical fitness certificates are required for commercial driving licenses and for applicants above 50 years of age. The aim of this step is to make the process easier and more convenient for citizens.

The CTO also announced that a digital verification system is being introduced to stop fake medical certificates. This online system will improve transparency and make the licensing process more reliable.

Authorities added that this initiative is part of broader efforts to modernize traffic services and improve public service delivery in Lahore.
