Iranian President Thanks PM Shehbaz and Field Marshal for Peace Efforts

ISLAMABAD: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian telephoned Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and the two leaders held a conversation lasting more than 30 minutes, according to an official statement.

During the call, President Pezeshkian expressed special gratitude on behalf of the Iranian nation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their role in the peace process.

The Iranian president said both leaders helped make the mediation efforts successful through their skill, sincerity, and wisdom. He added that Iran would always value the contributions of the prime minister and the field marshal.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the Iranian leadership and people on the historic agreement, saying it would help promote peace in the region and support Iran’s development and reconstruction efforts.

The prime minister expressed confidence that the agreement would further strengthen Pakistan-Iran relations in all sectors.

He also conveyed his best wishes to Iran’s Supreme Leader and praised Iran’s decision to sign the agreement.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wished success for the next phase of negotiations and reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued support for Iran as a brotherly and neighboring country.

President Pezeshkian also conveyed his good wishes for the people of Pakistan and expressed hope for stronger ties between the two countries in the future
