Pakistan Ready For Any "Misadventure" By India, Warns Defence Minister Khawaja Asif
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a strong warning to India, stating that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to respond to any act of aggression at any given time.
Speaking to the media outside Parliament House in Islamabad, he also touched upon regional security concerns, alleged proxies operating in Afghanistan, and claims of foreign-funded activities targeting Pakistan.
Asif stated that if India were to attempt any “adventure” again, it would face a strong and “befitting response.”
He said that Pakistan’s armed forces remain on high alert and are completely prepared to counter any form of aggression without any delay.
The defence minister further added that India would remember its past defeats for a long time, referencing earlier military confrontations between the two countries.
Action Against Alleged Proxies In Afghanistan
Khawaja Asif said Pakistan would take “appropriate arrangements” against what he described as Indian-backed proxies operating within Afghanistan.
He further claimed that individuals based in the United Kingdom were allegedly funding these networks, raising additional concerns about external involvement contributing to regional instability.
According to him, such activities were part of a larger, coordinated effort aimed at creating unrest within Pakistan.
Asif also stated that the narrative being promoted in Azad Kashmir did not reflect the views of Pakistanis or Kashmiris, alleging it was being influenced from across the border in India.
He claimed certain narratives were being pushed through external funding and media manipulation, adding that some groups had insulted the national flag and were acting against national interests.
Strong Stance On Water And National Security
The defence minister warned that Pakistan would respond firmly to any form of “water aggression.” He stated, “No one will be allowed to take even a drop of Pakistan’s water,” stressing that protective measures were already being put in place in this regard.
Remarks On Occupied Kashmir
Khawaja Asif also addressed the ongoing situation in occupied Kashmir, claiming that women there continue to face oppression and imprisonment. He added that Kashmiris had made significant sacrifices and continued to pay a heavy price for their association with Pakistan.
The defence minister further stated that the military episode referred to as “Operation Banyan Marsus” would be remembered for years to come in regional history. He also noted that India’s actions in Afghanistan had become part of the historical record.
On diplomatic matters, Asif said he would not comment on a planned event in Switzerland. He briefly added that the “Iran deal has been settled,” without offering further details.
