Karachi Toddler Kulsoom Murder Case: DNA Evidence From Suspects Reveals New Investigation Clues

24 June, 2026 21:40

Police investigating the tragic murder case of three-year-old Kulsoom in Karachi’s Quaidabad area have collected DNA samples from eight suspects as investigators search for crucial evidence.

Sources said the suspects were taken to Jinnah Hospital Karachi for DNA testing, while investigators confirmed that some relatives of the victim are also among those being examined.

Initial findings from the investigation indicate that a close relative could be connected to the case. Police are waiting for forensic results to determine the next steps.

The post-mortem examination reportedly revealed human hair and multiple DNA traces on the child’s clothing, along with signs of resistance. Investigators believe that more than one person may have been involved in the crime.

Sindh Inspector General Javed Alam Odho has formed a high-level investigation committee led by DIG East to monitor the case.

The committee includes senior officials from the Special Investigation Unit, Malir police, Special Branch Intelligence, investigation teams, and local police officers. Authorities have been directed to examine every possible angle and provide daily updates.

Odho instructed officers to use all available resources to identify and arrest those responsible, stating that strict legal action should be taken against those involved in the “heinous crime”.

“Use all available resources to arrest the culprits quickly and ensure the strictest punishment under law,” he directed officers. “Delivering justice to the family is Sindh Police’s top priority.”

Police have already detained multiple suspects for questioning, while medical examinations and forensic procedures continue as part of the investigation.

Earlier, police discovered the body of the missing three-year-old girl inside a sack near her neighborhood, with authorities reporting signs of torture.

According to the FIR registered at Quaidabad Police Station, the child’s father, Qasim, reported that his daughter went missing after leaving home to play outside. He said he was informed about her disappearance while he was at work and returned immediately to search for her.

Later that evening, residents found the child’s body inside a flour sack near the street entrance and informed the family. The body was taken to the hospital, where doctors confirmed that the child had died several hours earlier.

The investigation remains ongoing as police await forensic findings and continue efforts to bring the suspects to justice.
