Sararogha SHO Ahmed Shah Mehsud Among Six Police Personnel Kidnapped in South Waziristan

Sararogha SHO Ahmed Shah Mehsud Among Six Police Personnel Kidnapped in South Waziristan
In a serious security incident that has placed South Waziristan on high alert, unidentified armed militants abducted six police officials on Wednesday, including the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sararogha Police Station, Ahmed Shah Mehsud, along with two personnel from a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) team they were tasked to protect.
How the Abduction Unfolded
According to police sources, SHO Ahmed Shah Mehsud was on official duty in the Bangewala area of South Waziristan, providing security cover to a BDS team conducting operations in the region. Accompanying him were his gunmen — Tariq, Kaleem, Abdullah Shah — and his driver, Hazrat Umar. Two BDS personnel, identified as Ibrahim and Abdul Razzaq, who were present at the site, were also taken hostage by the assailants.
The District Police Officer (DPO) confirmed that the SHO and his team were returning from the site of a controlled blast when they were intercepted. Armed assailants had set up a road blockade, forcibly stopped the police vehicle, and abducted all occupants.
Search Operation Underway
Following the incident, the DPO stated that police and security forces have significantly stepped up efforts to locate and recover the abducted personnel. Multiple checkpoints have been established across the region, and a large-scale search operation is currently active to track down the kidnappers and trace the whereabouts of the missing officials.
Security across Sararogha and its surrounding areas has been placed on high alert. Investigations into the incident have been formally initiated.
No Claim of Responsibility
As of the time of reporting, no militant group or armed organisation has claimed responsibility for the abduction. The identities and precise location of SHO Ahmed Shah Mehsud and the five other abducted officials remain unknown, with authorities working urgently to establish contact or gather intelligence on their condition.
The incident marks a significant escalation of militant activity in the region and underscores the persistent security challenges facing law enforcement personnel in South Waziristan.
