PM Shehbaz Sharif Vows to Continue Pakistan's Peace Efforts Despite Security Challenges
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday reaffirmed that Pakistan will remain committed to the pursuit of peace regardless of the security pressures it faces, proudly identifying the nation as a globally recognised force for diplomacy and stability.
The prime minister made these remarks while addressing the passing-out parade of the 125th Midshipman and 33rd Short Service Commission Course at Pakistan Naval Academy PNS Rahbar in Karachi, where he served as chief guest and extended his congratulations to the graduating cadets.
In his address, PM Shehbaz noted that the world is experiencing sweeping transformations that are directly affecting the lives of ordinary people, making the pursuit of peace and regional stability more critical than ever before. He declared that “Pakistan is known today as a bearer of peace and a peacemaker on the global stage,” adding that the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the United States was “a matter of national honour.”
The prime minister attributed the success of this landmark agreement to Pakistan’s sincere and sustained mediation efforts, noting it became possible through “Pakistan’s sincere mediation efforts and the support of brotherly and friendly countries.”

Paying tribute to the military’s diplomatic contribution, PM Shehbaz praised Field Marshal Asim Munir for his pivotal role in advancing regional peace, stating that the military chief worked “day and night” to help establish peace and support Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives.
The prime minister also welcomed the recent visit of Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian to Islamabad, describing it as a reflection of the deep brotherly ties between the two nations and “recognition of Pakistan’s contributions to promoting peace and stability across the region.”
Pakistan Facing Internal and External Challenges
Acknowledging the difficult security landscape, PM Shehbaz stated that Pakistan is navigating “a complex and multifaceted phase marked by both internal and external challenges.” He alleged that Pakistan’s eastern neighbour had resorted to using proxy elements “after suffering a humiliating defeat,” warning of a “dangerous combination of global and external threats.” Despite these pressures, he firmly reiterated that Pakistan would not waver in its pursuit of peace and regional stability.
