28 June, 2026 18:21

Funeral prayers were solemnly conducted in Karachi for the personnel of Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) who embraced martyrdom while successfully thwarting a cowardly terrorist attack attributed to Jamaat ul Ahrar — a militant group described by Pakistani authorities as an Indian proxy organization.

The funeral was attended by a high-ranking gathering of civil and military leadership, including Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Governor of Sindh Nihal Hashmi, Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah, Director General Rangers, senior military officials, and the grieving families of the fallen soldiers.

Rangers Sacrificed Their Lives Defeating the Attack

The Rangers personnel embraced martyrdom in the line of duty while neutralizing the terrorist assault, preventing what could have been a far more devastating attack. Their sacrifice was widely praised by government and military leadership as an act of extraordinary bravery and dedication to national security.

Vows of Justice and Accountability

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi delivered a firm and unequivocal message at the funeral, declaring that those responsible for the attack would be held accountable without exception. “This terrorism incident is extremely tragic; those responsible will be made to pay,” the minister stated. He further warned that security forces would pursue the perpetrators wherever they sought refuge, saying forces “will chase terrorist elements wherever they are and bring them to justice.”

Governor of Sindh Nihal Hashmi strongly condemned the attack and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to eradicating terrorism from Pakistani soil, pledging that the struggle against militancy would continue without pause. “We fully condemn terrorism and will continue to struggle for its elimination,” he said, adding that the government would “uproot terrorism completely.”

Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah paid tribute to the fallen Rangers soldiers, saluting their courage and sacrifice. He reaffirmed the provincial government’s full solidarity with the security forces in their ongoing campaign against terrorism, stating that they stand “alongside security forces for the complete elimination of terrorism from the country.”

Remains Dispatched to Hometowns With Full Military Honors

Following the conclusion of the funeral prayers, the bodies of the martyred Rangers personnel were escorted to their respective hometowns, where they will be laid to rest with full military honors befitting their sacrifice in service of the nation.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also visited the site of the terrorist attack alongside the Governor of Sindh, inspecting the scene and receiving a security briefing on the incident.
