DSP Suspended as Punjab Police Launches Inquiry Over Allegations

Accountability measures continue in the Punjab Police as DSP Operations Civil Lines Lahore Khurram Shehzad Cheema has been suspended and directed to report to headquarters. According to a police spokesperson, the action was taken over allegations of inefficiency, corruption, and misuse of authority.

The suspension notification was issued by DIG Headquarters Dr Muhammad Abid Khan, while Inspector General of Punjab Police has also ordered a departmental inquiry into the officer’s conduct. Officials said the investigation will determine the extent of responsibility and any subsequent disciplinary action.

The police spokesperson reiterated that corruption and abuse of power will not be tolerated within the force. IG Punjab Abdul Karim emphasized that strict action will be taken against any officer found guilty following the completion of the inquiry report.
