Injured Teacher Denies Construction Work at Lahore Tuition Centre Before Deadly Collapse

The tuition teacher injured in the Kahna roof collapse tragedy has said that no construction work was taking place at the house at the time of the incident and that children were not being taught in unsafe conditions. Her statement comes amid conflicting accounts from residents and survivors regarding the circumstances leading up to the collapse.

According to reports, the injured teacher stated that had there been any construction activity or a power outage, she would have suspended classes and sent the children home. She maintained that normal teaching activities were underway when the incident occurred.

On June 30, 14 children were killed and several others, including the teacher, were injured when the roof of a tuition centre collapsed in the Kahna area of Lahore. Rescue teams, assisted by local residents, later pulled trapped children from the rubble and shifted the injured to hospital for treatment.
