Police Book Property Owners After Deadly Lahore Tuition Centre Collapse

Police in Lahore have registered a criminal case against the owners of a residential property and a construction worker following the roof collapse at a tuition centre in the Kahna area that claimed the lives of 14 children and injured several others. The case was filed at Kahna Police Station on the complaint of a municipal enforcement official after preliminary investigations indicated alleged negligence during repair work.
According to investigators, the property is jointly owned by three brothers who, along with a construction worker involved in renovation activities, have been nominated in the case. Authorities said the tuition centre was operating from a room inside the residential building when the roof collapsed.
Initial findings suggest that repair work was underway while classes continued with children inside the building. Investigators also said construction material had reportedly been placed on the classroom roof despite concerns about the deteriorating condition of the structure, raising questions over safety measures and possible negligence.
