Pakistan Accelerates Preparations for 2027 SAARC Games

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar Chaired a high-level meeting to review preparations for the 2027 SAARC Games, where participants discussed key measures to ensure the successful hosting of the regional sporting event. The meeting decided to establish a dedicated SAARC Games Secretariat in Islamabad immediately to coordinate planning and implementation.

The meeting also directed authorities to expedite the upgradation of the Pakistan Sports Complex and approved the formation of sub-committees to oversee financial affairs, infrastructure development, and sports venues. These committees will be responsible for ensuring that all preparations are completed on schedule.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to hosting the 2027 SAARC Games in line with international standards. Ishaq Dar also pledged full support for national sports federations in preparing and training athletes, while emphasizing that the event would help promote sports across the country and project a positive image of Pakistan to the world.
