PM Shehbaz, Field Marshal attend Ayatollah Khamenei’s funeral ceremony in Tehran

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir arrived at the Grand Imam Khomeini Mosalla in Tehran to attend an official funeral ceremony. He was accompanied by other senior Pakistani leaders.

The Pakistani delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Ata Tarar, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and other senior officials.

According to reports, the delegation received a special state welcome upon its arrival in Tehran, reflecting the close ties between Pakistan and Iran.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and other senior Iranian leaders also attended the ceremony.

During the event, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He and Field Marshal Asim Munir also offered condolences to the Iranian leadership and expressed Pakistan’s support for Iran during its period of mourning.

The visit highlighted the strong diplomatic relationship between Pakistan and Iran and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining close ties with its neighboring country.
