Bilawal Bhutto Reaffirms Support for Gilgit-Baltistan Rights, Criticizes India

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari congratulated Gulgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Amjad Hussain on assuming office and said the region’s people have a long history of struggle and patriotism. Addressing a public gathering, he paid tribute to the late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto for their contributions to Gilgit-Baltistan, while expressing hope that the region would one day secure representation in Pakistan’s National Assembly.
Bilawal said the PPP’s mandate in Gilgit-Baltistan is based on three key principles: the right to self-governance, the right to ownership of local resources, and the right to employment for the people. He stressed that it is the government’s responsibility to fulfill its commitments and said the younger generation would carry forward the region’s political and democratic aspirations.
Commenting on regional developments, Bilawal said the alleged Israeli conspiracy against Iran had failed and extended congratulations to the Iranian people. He also accused India of attempting to use water as a political tool and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the Indus Waters Treaty. Referring to regional security issues, Bilawal criticized the Indian government, saying Pakistan would remain united in defending its rights, sovereignty, and national interests.
