15 Terrorists Killed in Ziarat Clearance Operation as 9 Police Officers Martyred Fighting Terrorism

At least nine policemen were martyred in a terrorist attack in the Mangi Phase III area of Quetta, Balochistan, on Tuesday.

According to the Deputy Commissioner, security forces and terrorists exchanged heavy fire throughout the night. Police officers fought the attackers for several hours before the attack ended.

The Deputy Commissioner of Ziarat said the police showed strong resistance and continued fighting the terrorists overnight. He also said a search operation was launched to find five missing policemen.

Later, Babar Yousafzai said the clearance operation in Ziarat had been completed and 15 terrorists were killed during the operation. He paid tribute to the nine police officers and personnel who embraced martyrdom while fighting the terrorists.

He said law enforcement agencies had foiled the terrorists’ plans and would continue operations until terrorism is eliminated from Balochistan. He added that there is no place for terrorists or their facilitators in the province and that security forces are targeting terrorist networks in an organized manner.

Babar Yousafzai also said any attack on the authority of the state is unacceptable and vowed that operations against terrorists would continue.

Officials have not yet shared further details about the attack or the operation. Authorities are expected to provide more information after the investigation.
