Pakistan, US Hold Trade Agreement Talks in Washington to Enhance Economic Cooperation

Negotiations between Pakistan and the United States on a bilateral trade agreement are underway in Washington, D.C., according to the spokesperson of Pakistan’s Foreign Office. The two-day talks are being held today and tomorrow with the aim of strengthening trade and economic ties between the two countries.

The Pakistani delegation is being led by Commerce Secretary Jawad Paul. The delegation includes Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi, Additional Secretary OPHRD Nadeem Chaudhry, and Joint Secretary Tariff Policy Ashfaq Khan, while representatives of relevant ministries are participating through an online platform.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said the discussions are focused on promoting Pakistan-US trade relations, facilitating bilateral commerce, and exploring new opportunities for economic cooperation. The talks also aim to diversify and expand existing trade between the two countries.
