Pakistan Strongly Condemns Houthi Ballistic Missile Attacks on Saudi Arabia

Pakistan has strongly condemned the Houthi ballistic missile attacks on Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed its full support for the Kingdom’s security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

Speaking at an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council on the situation in Yemen, Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Usman Jadoon, said Pakistan strongly condemns the Houthi missile attacks targeting Saudi Arabia.

He said Pakistan fully supports Saudi Arabia’s security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Yemen’s sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity.

Jadoon called for dialogue, diplomacy, and restraint to reduce tensions in the region. He added that lasting peace in Yemen can only be achieved through an inclusive political process.

Meanwhile, foreign media reported that Saudi-led coalition spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Maliki said the Houthis fired ballistic missiles toward southern Saudi Arabia, but the Kingdom’s air defense system successfully intercepted and destroyed them.

The Houthis had earlier accused Saudi Arabia of carrying out airstrikes on Sanaa Airport and warned that the Kingdom would face consequences for the attacks.
