Khawaja Asif Rejects Indian Defence Minister’s Kashmir Remarks

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has strongly rejected what he called misleading and false Indian statements about Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement on social media platform X, Asif said India could not distort internationally recognised legal facts through political propaganda. He rejected recent remarks by the Indian defence minister, calling them another failed attempt to change the facts through political pressure.

Asif said Jammu and Kashmir remains an internationally recognised disputed territory, and its future should be decided according to UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

He also accused India of being a major source of instability in South Asia and said its irresponsible statements could increase tensions and the risk of conflict in the region.

The defence minister said Pakistan remains committed to peace and dialogue, while its resolve to protect its sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security remains firm.
