Sindh Government Declares July 29 Public Holiday
The Sindh government has announced a public holiday across the province, including Karachi, on July 29 to mark the annual Urs of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.
According to an official notification, all public offices and institutions covered under the holiday schedule will remain closed on the occasion.
Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai is one of the region’s most respected Sufi saints and poets. His annual Urs attracts devotees from Sindh and other parts of the country who gather to pay tribute to him and remember his teachings of peace, love and harmony.
The holiday will be observed across Sindh, giving people an opportunity to take part in religious and cultural events held during the Urs.
