Maryam Nawaz Says Kashmir Voters Chose Development, Rejects Bilawal’s Election Claims

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz congratulated Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers on the party’s electoral success, saying the people of Azad Kashmir had expressed strong confidence in Nawaz Sharif and her leadership. She said voters had endorsed the party’s development agenda and pledged that all promises made to the people of Kashmir would be fulfilled.

Responding to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Maryam Nawaz said election results were determined by the people, not by the state. She argued that Bilawal lacked both a performance record and a compelling political narrative, adding that the public had made its decision through the ballot box.

The Punjab chief minister also criticized the PPP’s governance in Sindh, saying the party had been in power there for 17 years but had failed to present a single major development project. She expressed regret over what she described as the language used by PPP leaders during the election campaign and claimed that conditions in Azad Kashmir had deteriorated during the PPP’s tenure.
