Security Forces Kill Alleged Mastermind of Hangu Check Post Attack in Intelligence-Based Operation

Security forces have killed an alleged militant commander identified as Muawiya, described by security sources as the mastermind behind the attack on the Khazina Banda check post, in what officials said was an intelligence-based operation in the Chapri Naryab area of Hangu district.

According to security sources, Muawiya was a senior figure in the group referred to by Pakistani authorities as Fitna al-Khawarij and had assumed a key leadership role in Kurram following Commander Kazim. He was reportedly wanted by security forces in connection with multiple militant attacks.

Security sources said the operation was carried out to bring those responsible for the Khazina Banda check post attack to justice, adding that action will continue without discrimination against all militants allegedly involved in the assault that claimed the lives of Hangu police personnel.
