7 New Faces Enter Azad Kashmir Assembly in Second Election Phase

Seven new faces, including a woman, have been elected to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in the second phase of the elections.

Two of the newly elected members are from the Muzaffarabad Division, while five won seats reserved for refugees.

Pakistan Peoples Party candidate Sardar Mukhtar Ahmed won the LA-29 Muzaffarabad City seat for the first time, defeating former minister Barrister Iftikhar Gilani.

From LA-31 Khawra, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate Raja Saqib Majeed was elected to the assembly for the first time.

PML-N candidates Muhammad Ahsan Raza from LA-36 Jammu-3, Maryam Javed from LA-37 Jammu-4, Chaudhry Zeeshan Ali from LA-38 Jammu-5, Muhammad Amir Shah from LA-41 Kashmir Valley-2 and Muhammad Yasin Lone from LA-43 Kashmir Valley-4 also won their first assembly seats.

Five new faces were also elected in the first phase of the elections. With the completion of both phases, a total of 12 new members have joined the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
