Pakistan Condemns Israeli Actions in Occupied Jerusalem, Calls for United Efforts on Palestine

05 August, 2026 17:52

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian cause, condemning Israeli actions in occupied Jerusalem as violations of international law and urging Arab and Muslim countries to work together for the freedom of Palestine. Addressing a ministerial conference on occupied Jerusalem in Amman, Dar said Pakistan welcomed the convening of the meeting to discuss the situation in the holy city.

He strongly condemned what he described as incursions by extremist Israeli groups into Al-Aqsa Mosque, stressing that Israel has no sovereignty over occupied East Jerusalem. Dar said attempts to alter the status of the city’s holy sites and Israel’s continued actions in occupied Jerusalem were unacceptable and in violation of international law.

Expressing concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the deputy prime minister said the people of the enclave were facing severe shortages of food and drinking water. He reiterated Pakistan’s rejection of Israel’s illegal settlements and occupation, calling on the international community to ensure respect for international law and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Dar emphasized that Arab and Muslim countries must strengthen their collective efforts to support the Palestinian cause and work toward the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s longstanding commitment to the Palestinian people and called for a just and lasting resolution to the conflict based on international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
