PM Shehbaz Sharif to Visit Saudi Arabia, Hold Talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will undertake an official visit to Saudi Arabia from August 6 to August 8, the Foreign Office spokesperson announced on Wednesday. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir will accompany the prime minister during the visit, which is expected to focus on strengthening bilateral ties and discussing matters of mutual interest.

According to the Foreign Office, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will hold a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to review Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations and exchange views on regional and international developments. The spokesperson said Pakistan continues to play a diplomatic role in Middle East affairs and remains committed to promoting regional peace and stability.

The spokesperson also praised Oman for its constructive role amid the current regional situation, stating that Pakistan highly values Muscat’s diplomatic efforts. Separately, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart and recently paid an important visit to Jordan as part of Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic engagement in the region.

Responding to remarks by India’s Ministry of External Affairs regarding the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections, the Foreign Office rejected the statements as baseless. The spokesperson maintained that transparent elections are being held in Azad Kashmir and asserted that India has no moral justification for making such comments.
