Karachi’s Glory Will Be Restored, Says Mayor Murtaza Wahab

Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has said that the city’s vibrancy will be restored and that Karachi is moving in the right direction. He said political stability is the most important factor for the development of any country, stressing that economic stability cannot be achieved without political stability. He added that even the best system cannot function effectively if those responsible for running it are not capable.
Wahab questioned the condition of the Landhi Sports Complex during the tenure of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), saying practical steps were being taken to improve the city. He urged critics to stop what he described as propaganda, maintaining that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was committed to working for Karachi and wanted to bring improvement to the city.
On the issue of creating new provinces, the Karachi mayor said such matters should be resolved through Parliament in accordance with the Constitution. He maintained that the Constitution provides answers to every question and warned that merely floating ideas and making political statements would not resolve the country’s problems.
