Lahore: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid a surprise visit to Allama Iqbal International Airport, where he reviewed the facilities and immigration system.
During the visit, Mohsin Naqvi reviewed immigration counters, spoke with staff and listened to passengers’ concerns. Passengers said the process takes nearly 30 minutes and called for better facilities.
Mohsin Naqvi assured to speed up the immigration process and issued orders to keep all the counters open to avoid delays.
During the visit, the Interior Minister took immediate notice of a complaint from a passenger about taking money through an agent and handed over the case to the Federal Investigation Agency and ordered his arrest.
He directed that no one should be allowed to travel on incomplete travel documents, while passengers with complete documents would not be stopped. He said that modern technology has improved immigration and action against fake documents is being tightened.
