Mohsin Naqvi Chairs Meeting of Interior Ministry’s Subordinate Departments

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired a meeting of the heads of all subordinate departments of the Ministry of Interior and directed them to strengthen coordination and cooperation among institutions. Naqvi said the responsibilities of the Interior Ministry were different and extraordinary compared with other ministries, stressing that all departments must achieve their targets to ensure the provision of quality services to the public.
Naqvi said newly established institutions, including the Land Port Authority, would be provided with full support and necessary resources. He directed the heads of departments to ensure effective measures for data and cybersecurity and said every subordinate institution must be transformed into an exemplary and public-friendly organization. He also instructed institutions to take decisions independently without referring every matter to the ministry and called for immediate proposals for necessary legal amendments and reforms.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said the culture of inaction that had previously existed in federal institutions was being changed. He stressed that all departments must work in a target-oriented, result-driven and performance-focused manner. Naqvi said the absence of reported drug-smuggling cases during the Hajj operation was an indication of improved performance and urged all institutions to further enhance efficiency, coordination and public service delivery.
