PTI Files Contempt Petition Against Govt Over Imran Khan’s Hospital Transfer

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a contempt of court petition against the government over the transfer of party founder Imran Khan for medical examination.

The petition was filed by PTI leaders Salman Akram Raja and Uzair Bhandari. It asks the Supreme Court to initiate contempt proceedings over what the party claims was a violation of the court’s August 18, 2026 order.

The petition also requests the court to issue show-cause notices to those allegedly responsible and order their personal appearance before the court. It further seeks punishment under the law if they are found guilty of contempt.

PTI has asked the Supreme Court to immediately transfer Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad for a medical examination.

The petition also requests the appointment of a court officer or a local commission to ensure that the court’s order is properly implemented.

The Supreme Court had ordered that Imran Khan be shifted to Shifa International Hospital for a medical examination. However, the government instead transferred him to PIMS Hospital, where he underwent a medical examination before being taken back to Adiala Jail.
