Five Workers Killed in Firing on Road Construction Site in Quetta

Quetta: Five workers were killed and another sustained critical injuries when unidentified attackers opened fire on laborers working on a road construction project in Saranan, Sulaiman Zai, police said. The attackers targeted the workers while they were engaged in construction activities.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti strongly condemned the attack, saying targeting hardworking laborers was a manifestation of the terrorists’ brutal mindset. He said the workers were contributing to the development and progress of Balochistan and Pakistan, adding that those responsible for shedding innocent citizens’ blood would not be spared.

Bugti said the cowardly attacks would not weaken the state’s resolve and that the killing of innocent Pakistanis would further strengthen the determination to combat terrorism. He said terrorists and their facilitators would be brought to justice and decisive operations would continue until terrorism was completely eliminated from Balochistan. He also expressed solidarity with the families of the victims.
