Arshad Vohra Says MQM Has Called for New Provinces in Sindh

Former MQM leader Arshad Vohra has said that his party has demanded the creation of new provinces rather than merely calling for new administrative units. Speaking on the political debate over Sindh’s administrative structure, Vohra said several countries around the world had created new provinces to improve governance and administration.

Vohra criticized the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), alleging that the party had failed to deliver meaningful development in Sindh during its 18 years in power. He further accused the PPP of being associated with widespread corruption during that period, while the PPP has rejected such allegations and defended its record of governance in the province.

Defending the MQM’s record, Vohra claimed that the party established the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) and modernized Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. He also accused the PPP of repeatedly making false statements, saying the party had “done a PhD in lying,” while reiterating the MQM’s position in favor of creating new provinces.
