Ishaq Dar Reaffirms Pakistan’s Support for Palestinian Cause in Meeting with Riyad Mansour

NEW YORK: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar met with Palestine’s Permanent Observer to the United Nations, Ambassador Riyad Mansour, at the UN Headquarters in New York.

During the meeting, Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and to establish an independent, contiguous and sovereign Palestinian state.

Dar said Pakistan would continue to raise the Palestinian issue strongly during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly and at other relevant international forums.

He also said Pakistan would highlight the issue during bilateral engagements held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Dar emphasised Pakistan’s support for international efforts aimed at securing an immediate end to the suffering of the people of Gaza.

He said Pakistan would continue to support diplomatic efforts for a just and lasting peace in the region.

The meeting comes as the Palestinian situation remains a key issue at the UN General Assembly, with Pakistan continuing to advocate for Palestinian rights and a political settlement based on international law and relevant UN resolutions.
