Russian Embassy in Pakistan Concludes State Duma Election Voting in Islamabad

Islamabad: Voting at the polling station established at the Embassy of Russia in Pakistan has successfully concluded, Russian Ambassador Albert P. Khorev said.

According to the ambassador, a total of 130 people cast their ballots, including the leadership and staff of the embassy and trade mission, their family members, as well as Russian citizens residing in or temporarily staying in Pakistan.

Observers from the Civic Chamber of Russia present at the polling station noted that the voting process was conducted in accordance with established procedures and that no violations were identified.

Khorev said the voting took place amid a challenging social situation, including heightened protest activity and partial traffic restrictions in Islamabad.

He said the embassy, in coordination with Pakistani authorities, took additional measures to inform Russian citizens and arrange convenient transportation to the polling station.

The ambassador said all necessary conditions were created to enable Russian citizens residing in Islamabad and surrounding areas to exercise their right to vote.

Khorev thanked all Russian citizens who participated in the elections for deputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the ninth convocation, saying their participation demonstrated a strong sense of civic responsibility.
