Ishaq Dar Joins R-4 Ministerial Meeting at UNGA 81, Reaffirms Support for Palestine

NEW YORK: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar participated in the Ministerial Meeting of the Regional-4 (R-4) group on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, who joined Ishaq Dar for discussions on regional developments and cooperation.

Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to the R-4 framework and stressed the importance of continued engagement to promote regional peace, stability and prosperity.

Ministers Discuss Regional Situation

The ministers exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and expressed support for efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to ongoing conflicts and tensions.

They emphasised the importance of continued diplomatic engagement and cooperation in addressing regional challenges.

R-4 Reaffirms Support for Palestine

The ministers also reiterated their support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their inalienable right to self-determination.

They reaffirmed support for the establishment of an independent, sovereign, viable and contiguous State of Palestine based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The meeting underscored the R-4 countries’ continued coordination on regional peace, stability and the Palestinian issue.
