Ishaq Dar, Saudi Foreign Minister Discuss Defence Cooperation and Regional Security

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

The two foreign ministers reaffirmed the longstanding and close relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and welcomed the signing of an agreement providing mutual exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official or special passports.

Ishaq Dar expressed Pakistan’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia and condemned the recent attacks targeting the Kingdom.

The two ministers also discussed matters related to the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation under the agreement.

They emphasised the importance of continued coordination to promote regional peace, stability and security.

The meeting also covered bilateral and regional matters of mutual interest, with both sides stressing the importance of sustained high-level exchanges.

The two countries agreed to maintain close coordination on issues affecting their shared interests and regional security.
