Ramadan 2025: Fidya and Fitrana rates announced
The Islamic Ideological Council has released guidelines for Fitrana (almsgiving) and Fidya (compensation for missed fasting) for this yearβs Ramadan.
Fitrana Rates for 2025
The council has set the minimum Fitrana amount at Rs220 per person, based on the price of wheat. Those who prefer to donate other food items can contribute:
- Rs1,650 for dates
- Rs2,500 for raisins
- Rs5,000 for dried apricots
Chairman Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi emphasized that Fitrana is an obligatory charity for all Muslims and should be given before the end of Ramadan.
Fidya (Compensation for Missed Fasts)
For those unable to fast, the Fidya rates for 30 days are as follows:
- Rs6,600 for wheat
- Rs13,500 for barley
- Rs49,500 for dates
- Rs75,000 for raisins
- Rs150,000 for dried apricots
Moon Sighting for Ramadan 2025
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Peshawar on February 28, 2025, to sight the Ramadan moon. Efforts are being made to ensure that Ramadan begins on the same day across Pakistan.
