Expected schedule of Eidul Fitr 2025 holidays in Pakistan
LAHORE – The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has officially announced that the holy month of Ramazan in Pakistan will commence on March 2 (Monday) after the sighting of the crescent moon.
Muslims across the country are now preparing to observe the sacred month with religious devotion and enthusiasm, while discussions about the Eidul Fitr 2025 holiday schedule have already begun.
Eidul Fitr 2025 Expected Date
Eidul Fitr, a significant religious festival marking the end of Ramazan, is traditionally celebrated for three days. The federal government usually declares public holidays for this occasion.
According to SUPARCO (Pakistan’s Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission), Ramazan is expected to last for 29 days, concluding on March 30. If the Shawwal moon is sighted on March 30, Eidul Fitr will be observed on March 31. However, if the moon is not sighted, the first day of Eid will fall on April 1.
Eidul Fitr 2025 Holiday Schedule
The official Eid holidays in Pakistan typically span three days, but due to weekends, people may get up to six consecutive days off this year.
Scenario 1: Eid Falls on March 31 (Sunday)
- Public holidays: March 31 (Sunday) – April 2 (Tuesday)
- Total holidays: Five (including Saturday & Sunday, March 29-30)
Scenario 2: Eid Falls on April 1 (Monday)
- Public holidays: April 1 (Monday) – April 3 (Wednesday)
- Total holidays: Six (including Saturday & Sunday, March 29-30)
As per past trends, the government is likely to announce an official notification regarding Eid holidays closer to the date.
