Sania Mirza likely to contest Lok Sabha elections

After enjoying success in tennis and media industry, Sania Mirza is fearing up to start her new innings by stepping into politics.

The former tennis star would be contesting for election from Hyderabad, in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

She is said to be contesting on a Congress ticket against existing Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi.

Moreover, the Congress party have hinted at the party’s interest in nominating her as a potential candidate in the upcoming elections.

If the report is believed, then she would be up against All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi.

Neither Mirza nor the Congress has officially confirmed her candidacy.

These speculations emerged soon after Sania Mirza won the NDTV Indian of the Year award.
