Search underway for vacant Pakistan coach slot

02 March, 2024 15:09

Coaching gig for the Pakistan cricket team is one of multiple challenges the Mohsin Naqvi-led management is trying to overcome.

With just three months remaining in the ICC T20 World Cup, finding a coach for the Men in Green is turning out to be one of the biggest task as most of them are already engaged in the different T20 leagues around the globe.

And one can understand the urgency of the matter is because, New Zealand are scheduled to tour Pakistan for five-match T20I series in April.

This gives the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) just a month to sort out the matter.

In this regard, the board is already considering an option of appointing a local coach with a foreign consultant.

Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn and Andrew Puttick, who were transferred to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore after a change in their portfolios in November 2023, left their respective positions in January this year.

The trio were roped in last year ahead of the ICC World Cup in India.
