Asia Cup 2025 Semi-Final: Fakhar Zaman Cleared Fit Ahead of Pakistan vs Bangladesh Showdown

The Asia Cup 2025 semi-final will witness a crucial clash today as Pakistan takes on Bangladesh.

India has already secured a place in the final by defeating Bangladesh, and the winner of today’s contest between Pakistan and Bangladesh will claim the remaining spot in the title match.

Both sides have so far played two games each, collecting two points apiece. Pakistan sits second on the table on the basis of net run rate, but qualification demands nothing short of victory for the Men in Green. A defeat would automatically pave the way for Bangladesh to reach the final.

In head-to-head encounters, the two nations have faced each other in 16 T20 internationals. Pakistan holds a dominant record with 14 wins, while Bangladesh has emerged victorious only twice.

Team news suggests that Hasan Nawaz could feature in today’s fixture. Meanwhile, pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi expressed confidence ahead of the final, stating that whether the opponent is India or any other team, Pakistan will certainly triumph.

Adding to the boost, opener Fakhar Zaman has been declared fully fit before the decisive contest. He had been struck on the helmet by Sri Lankan fast bowler Dushmantha in the previous match and was immediately given medical attention.

Although still under medical supervision, Fakhar has reported no lingering discomfort. Following a thorough check-up, doctors have cleared him to play. As per ICC protocols, any player hit on the head is required to remain under observation for 18 to 20 hours.
