Pakistan defeated South Africa by 93 runs at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, taking a 1–0 lead in the two-match Test series, as reported by national media on Wednesday.

On the fourth day of the match, South African batters Ryan Rickelton and Tony de Zorzi resumed their innings. However, de Zorzi was dismissed early by Shaheen Shah Afridi without adding to his overnight score.

Nauman Ali then took two key wickets — Tristan Stubbs and David Bedingham — while Sajid Khan removed Ryan Rickelton, who scored 45 runs. Shaheen Afridi also dismissed Verreynne and Subrayen, and Sajid Khan claimed Muthusamy’s wicket to end the innings.

Earlier, South Africa had been bowled out for 269 runs in their first innings, replying to Pakistan’s total of 378. Pakistan then started their second innings with a lead of 109 runs but were dismissed for 167, setting South Africa a target of 277 runs.

In the chase, South Africa managed just 183 runs, falling short by 93. By the end of the third day, they had already lost two early wickets — captain Aiden Markram for 3 and Wiaan Mulder for 0 — and couldn’t recover on the final day.

With this win, Pakistan now lead the Test series 1–0
