PTA blames loadshedding for internet problems in Karachi
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has blamed loadshedding for network problems in Karachi.
According to details, PTAΒ has proposed express feeders to solve the problems of mobile internet service in the city, attributing the network problems in the mega city to loadshedding.
The PTA documents say that voice and data service were found to be better during the survey in Karachi and the main reason for the network shutdown in important areas is the prolonged loadshedding of electricity.
The areas of closure of the network include parts of District Central, East, South, West and Malir.
According to the document, the telecom infrastructure in the affected areas has been equipped with backup power systems, with an average battery backup of only 2 to 4 hours.
