Apple iPhone 18 display leak reveals new details

Fresh leaks about Apple’s upcoming iPhone lineup are starting to shape early expectations. A new report has added more details to earlier rumors about the standard iPhone 18, pointing to possible changes in the display that may help reduce costs.

As per report the base iPhone 18 gets Samsung’s M12+ panel – just a tweak over the M12 from iPhone 14 Pro and Galaxy S23 Ultra. No huge wow factor.

On the other hand, the more expensive models, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, are expected to come with Samsung’s newer M16 display material. This newer panel is a step ahead of the M14 technology, which first appeared in the iPhone 16 Pro and was later used across the iPhone 17 series.

So, standard iPhone 18 might lag behind last gen in brightness smarts – newer screens sip less power for same glow. Paired with A20 2nm chip (super efficient), but that screen could eat into gains.

Even then, the real-world impact is still uncertain. Most users may not notice a big difference in daily use, and battery life will depend on several factors. Apple could also balance performance by using a slightly larger battery or other optimizations.
