PM Shehbaz Sharif to Visit Iran and Turkiye from July 3 to 5

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will undertake official visits to Iran and Turkiye from July 3 to 5, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi announced during a weekly press briefing in Islamabad. The prime minister will first travel to Iran to attend the funeral ceremony of Iran’s Martyred Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. During the visit, he will convey condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan to the Iranian leadership and the bereaved families, while reaffirming Pakistan’s solidarity with the brotherly nation.

Following his visit to Iran, Prime Minister Shehbaz will travel to Turkiye at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The two leaders are expected to hold wide-ranging discussions covering the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, with a particular focus on enhancing trade, investment, and economic cooperation. Regional peace and security will also feature prominently in the high-level talks.

During his stay in Istanbul, the prime minister will address a business conference organized by Pakistan to showcase the country’s trade and investment opportunities. The event will highlight priority sectors including Special Economic Zones (SEZs), energy, trade, information technology, and privatization, as Pakistan seeks to attract greater foreign investment and strengthen economic partnerships with Turkiye.
