PTI to file review petition against SC ‘bat’ verdict
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Monday said that the PTI will file a review petition against the SC judgment, noting that a five-member apex court bench should have heard the matter.
Speaking to journalists outside Adiala Jail, Barrister Gohar stated that the PTI would definitely file a review appeal against the SC judgment, noting that a five-member apex court bench should have heard the matter as the case concerned Article 17 of the Constitution.
The article states that every citizen “shall have the right to form associations or unions, subject to any reasonable restrictions imposed by law in the interest of sovereignty or integrity of Pakistan, public order or morality”.
PTI claimed that a conspiracy against democracy has succeeded, this is a huge loss for democracy and [this decision] will give birth to a new wave of corruption,as SC verdict had affected the fundamental rights of the people of Pakistan.

On 13 January, CJP Qazi Faez Isa-led three-member bench upheld the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) Dec 22 decision to declare the PTI’s intra-party polls as “unconstitutional” and revoke its ‘bat’ symbol.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf reiterated its stance to contest February 8 General Elections. The PTI to field its candidates for polls as independent candidate across the country despite being affiliated with PTI.
The PTI also lost the right to obtain reserved seats for women and minorities after SC verdict and therefore, was pushed to contest elections independently.
PTI to issue list of contesting candidates within three days
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said PTI will issue a list of supported candidates, with their respective electoral symbols, within three days. The PTI would upload a list of party-affiliated candidates and their electoral symbols on all social media platforms.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan appealed to Pakistanis to come out of their state of fear and exhibit their real strength on the polling day on February 8.
