LHC moved to remove Sadiq Sanjrani as Senate chairman

A petition has been filed to remove Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani from his post in the Lahore High Court.

The application was filed by citizen Mashkoor Hussain through Nadeem Sarwar Advocate. Sadiq Sanjrani, Election Commission of Pakistan and others have been made parties in the plea.

It is stated in the plea that Sadiq Sanjrani contested and won a Balochistan Assembly seat. In this connection, the Election Commission has also issued a notification. Sanjrani cannot hold two seats simultaneously and is illegally working as Senate chairman, the petition added.
