Viral Video: Kayaker swallowed by Humpback whale

A humpback whale swallowed a kayaker in the sea off Chilean Patagonia, South America, in a remarkable and unusual incident.

Surprisingly, the enormous creature did not harm the kayaker, releasing him unharmed after a brief period.

A video of the frightening event quickly went viral, attracting attention from media outlets worldwide, including the BBC.

The BBC shared the video with the caption: “A humpback whale briefly trapped a kayaker in its mouth off Chilean Patagonia before quickly releasing him unharmed.”

Adrián Simancas, who was kayaking with his father, Dell Simancas, was suddenly engulfed by the whale when it surfaced. The young man and his yellow kayak were trapped in the whale’s mouth for a few seconds before being freed.

Dell, just meters away, managed to capture the extraordinary moment on video while reassuring his son to stay calm.

Adrián, reflecting on the experience, said, “I thought it had eaten me and swallowed me.”

Despite the brief ordeal, both father and son remained unharmed and the encounter ended peacefully.
