Flash Flood Heavy Damage in Shigar
Shigar – A sudden flash flood in the Sino Braldo stream has caused serious destruction in the surrounding areas of Shigar district.
The powerful flood damaged local water channels and connecting roads, cutting off access to nearby villages. Several trees, bunds (protective walls), and agricultural land have been swept away by the rushing water.
The RCC bridge and the road leading to the power house have also been damaged. Local farmers have suffered heavy losses as their entire season’s crops have been destroyed.
There are also fears that the newly built power house in Sino Braldo may have been seriously damaged due to the flood.
The people of Sino have urgently called on the Deputy Commissioner of Shigar to take immediate action to assess the damage and start relief efforts.
