Sarpanch affiliated with BJP killed in Kulgam district IOJK (occupied Kashmir) on Thursday.
Unidentified gunmen killed an Indian army backed and BJP-affiliated Sarpanch in Kulgam district on Thursday.
The Sarpanch identified as Sajad Ahmad Khanday was shot at by the attackers at Vessu in Qazigund area of the district.
This is the second such attack in less than 48 hours.
Earlier,gunmen attack BJP Panch, Arif Ahmad, critically injuring him at Akhran in Qazigund on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, three BJP workers announced their resignation from the party in Qazigund.
On Wednesday, the authorities continue to impose curfew and strict restrictions to prevent people from holding anti-India demonstrations on Youm-e-Istehsal.
India has put the illegally occupied territory under military siege since August 05, last year, when Narendra Modi-led fascist government of India repealed the special status of Kashmir.
Indian troops have been deployed in strength across the occupied territory to keep the people indoors.
The authorities have sealed most of the roads and market places.
They made announcements on loudspeakers wherein they urged people to stay inside their homes.
Moreover, they allowed no movement of people.
Meanwhile, Kashmiris observe complete shutdown in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
They registered protest against continued military siege and Modi regime’s nefarious plans to change the demographic profile of the territory.
