Visas of over 400 int’l students, including Pakistanis, in US universities revoked

The visas of about 450 international students of several US universities have been unexpectedly canceled.
According to US media, those whose visas have been canceled in American universities include students from Pakistani and other Muslim countries.
They said that the visa cancellation was done without prior notice and legal action.
There may be many reasons for the cancellation of visas, but officials associated with colleges and universities say that the government is taking this step quietly.
The Trump administration is specifically targeting students who have been protesting in favour of the Palestinians, but the visas of some people have been canceled despite not taking part in any demonstrations.
Universities whose visas were revoked include Harvard, Stanford, UCLA, the University of Michigan and many other educational institutions.
According to US media, the visas of 12 students and graduates at UCLA were canceled, while a student of the University of Michigan left the country.
Most of the student visas were revoked during an audit of the Syuss system.
On the other hand, educational institutions and human rights activists have expressed serious concern.
Meanwhile, universities are busy providing legal assistance and support to students, while international students are uneasy with visa cancellations. Student organisations have raised questions over the violation of rules.
