UN Warns 14,000 Children in Gaza Could Die If Urgent Aid Not Allowed Immediately
The United Nations has issued a serious warning that 14,000 children in Gaza could die within 48 hours if life-saving aid isn’t allowed into the area immediately.
UN humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher described the situation as disastrous. He said if aid doesn’t reach Gaza in the next two days, thousands of children could die from hunger, dehydration, and lack of medical care. Although Israel recently let in a small amount of aid, only five trucks made it through in the last 24 hours. Fletcher said this was far too little and most of the supplies haven’t reached those who need them most.
Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes continue to hit homes and refugee camps in Gaza. Today alone, 73 Palestinians were killed, including women and children, worsening the already dire situation.
The ongoing blockade of aid and repeated attacks have drawn global criticism. The UK, France, and Canada have warned Israel they may impose sanctions if the violence and aid restrictions don’t stop soon. These countries are calling for an immediate ceasefire and full access for humanitarian workers.
On the ground, aid workers say food, clean water, and medical supplies are quickly running out. Children are suffering the most, with many already malnourished and hospitals destroyed.
The UN is urging the immediate opening of aid routes and protection for civilian areas. With rising deaths and blocked supplies, Gaza is heading toward a tragedy that experts say could soon be beyond repair unless fast action is taken.
